Become the Queen of Seedlings in 10 easy steps!

In the green kingdom of gardens, there is a prestigious title, coveted by gardeners around the world: that of the Queen of Seedlings.
But how can we access this much-desired floral throne?
So follow me on this horticultural adventure tinged with humor!
First of all, to claim the title of Queen of Seedlings, you will need a sense of humor as flowery as your flowerbeds. Because let's be honest, when the seeds refuse to germinate or the mold invites itself to the party without invitation, it's better to have a mind as resistant as a weed in a well-kept flower bed!
Next, grab your magic wand… uh, sorry, your watering can, and be patient. Because gardening is a bit like waiting for your basil to grow: it takes time, but when it finally happens, it's a real explosion of flavors... or flowers, depending on your preferences and your harvest speed!
Don't be afraid to get your hands in the dirt, even if it means you'll look more like a scarecrow than a proper queen. Because once you have successfully grown your own flowers, you will be the undisputed sovereign of bouquets, herbal teas, “I have a flower for your boo-boo”!
Of course, being the Queen of Seeds also implies knowing how to juggle the unexpected. From soil damage, slightly soft germination, to curious cats who will come and observe your work with little delicacy. Be ready to face any obstacle with a bright smile and a watering can in your hand. The Queen of Seedlings knows that she will succeed in creating a sumptuous flower garden by summer.
Finally, don't forget that the ultimate secret to becoming the Queen of Seedlings lies in the pleasure you will take in cultivating your little corner of flowering paradise. Because beyond the abundant harvests and dazzling flowers, it is the love that you put into each seed that will make you a true horticultural sovereign.
So, ladies and gentlemen, get ready to draw your hoe and sow joy and good humor in your gardens! Because who knows, maybe the next Queen of Semis is you!
Sow flowers, sow happiness.
How to successfully sow seeds in 10 easy steps!
- Direct sowing or transplant! First, check whether this seed should be sown directly in the ground after the risk of frost (direct sowing) or if it needs to be sown indoors to begin germination (transplant).” Some flowers need to be sown before spring arrives to give them a chance to mature.
- Determine your thaw date last year. Check the instructions on the sachet. Usually according to the formula “xx weeks before the last frost date”. It's all about counting backwards to find the appropriate date to start your sowing.
- Prepare your equipment. Trays or containers, potting soil, seeds, water, label, pencil. Sow the seeds in the ground and identify the trays.
- Cover the seedlings with a clear dome and place your seeds in a warm, bright location.
- When the first shoots appear, you can then remove the dome.
- Place the seedlings near a sunny window after germination.
- Water your seedlings regularly. They must not lack water.
- When the temperature outside warms and there is no longer a risk of frost in your area, acclimatize your seedlings to outdoor conditions for a few days.
- When all risk of frost has passed, transplant your seedlings into the ground, in a container or balcony box and water well.
- Harvest, enjoy, discover, contemplate!
Save the seeds
There are almost always too many seeds in a bag for just one season. Then reseal the bag and store it in a cool, dry place for the following year.
